James Barbour-Smith

James is a member of the portfolio management team and sits on the board of a number of Gresham's investments. Since joining Gresham in 1998 he has been involved in 33 exits as well as working closely with the new deal team. He sourced the Busy Bees investment and the XKO acquisition for 2e2. Recent exits have included the sale of Whitworths, Busy Bees and the IPO’s of SThree and office2office.

Before joining Gresham, he was with Lloyds Development Capital, also on portfolio management. James has lectured for the BVCA on managing investments. He is a law graduate from Aberdeen University and qualified as an accountant at Coopers & Lybrand.
