Minivator wins growth and innovation award
Minivator, the country’s second largest supplier of stairlifts, bathlifts and platforms was awarded the Business Growth & Innovation Award at the Best of Black Country Awards, sponsored by BDO.
Judges commented that the company put the customer at the centre of everything they do and that product innovation and development have been critical to the growth of the business. They also added that Minivators employees were 'engaged' in the business top down and all have contributed towards the strong "team ethic".
The business has experienced phenomenal growth with turnover increasing from £6.8m in 2001 to a forecast £27m in 2006. Employee numbers have grown four-fold. They launched a new low- cost stairlift (the Simplicity 950) which doubled Minivator's share of the UK straight stairlift market since its launch in May.
Minivator provide bespoke stairlift and access solution products to the disabled and less able population in the UK and overseas. Gresham backed the management buy-out in 2004.
